I was reading your article about the possibility of CAS reducing the sentence of Mohammed Amir. There is something which is a little confusing. On Cricinfo, around a year ago, there was an article by Farouk Engineer which said that the ICC have the right to show leniency in exceptional circumstances as this is something which is in their code. However, on your blog and on other websites, it is stated that the minimum sentence is 5 years and CAS can’t go any lower. If this was the case then why would Amir and Asif be appealing the sentence?
